Wind up your mobile

The Energy Saving Centre has covered the subject of using electrical chargers in another one its tips, or at least the potential problem of leaving them plugged on once a device is fully charged.

This tip looks specifically at the subject of charging mobile phones - well their batteries to be more precise.

Wind-up mobile chargers are now widely available and are relatively inexpensive, so why not treat yourself or buy it as a gift for someone.

Although you'll be doing the climate a great favour by using a wind-up charger for your mobile, it's also an indispensable aid to have with you when you're sailing or camping, or for any other reason you could find yourself out reach of a mains electricity supply. And given our apparent increased dependency on the mobile phone and other Internet devices, this could be a must-have device.

And you might get a bit of light exercise into the bargain!
