Use a vacuum flask

If you're going out for the day you might decide to take a hot drink with you in a vacuum flask.

But why not do that even if you're staying in! Make your tea of coffee first thing in the morning and it will save continuously using the kettle to make another cuppa.

So, if you have a kettle that's rated at 3000 Watts say, although it's only on for a relatively short time heating up the water, there must be some scope for saving some electricity.

Maybe we will see more of the humble vacuum flask around the home in the future.
