Company Information
Scottish Power was formed in 1990 and has its headquarters in Glasgow. In 1996, Scottish Power acquired Manweb, which originally supplied North Wales and Merseyside. In 2006 Scottish Power was acquired by Spanish energy company Iberdrola. They describe their role as being to play a key role in the British energy sector, and to invest in wind power, nuclear energy and 'clean coal' in order to help curb greenhouse emissions.
Scottish Power is the leading wind power supplier in the UK, and the country's third largest energy distributor. The company's six 'Big Goals' incorporate health and safety, complete customer satisfaction, engaging people, continuous performance improvement, respect for the environment and ethical, responsible behaviour.
